Amanda Goldstein, Jemma Gafford, Liza Samala — not just names, but a family of friends, partnering to bring forth a new magazine which will focus on kids’ lives, promote family ties and leave community impressions.
Amanda, Jemma and Liza all grew up in Southern California, attended local universities — University of Southern California, California State University at Fullerton and have lived in the greater Los Angeles area most of their lives. Their talents include a combined 40+ years of experience in the magazine industry — managing, editorial, advertising and graphics. They have focused on a variety of industries which includes fashion, media, medical and legal.
The founding women all bring forth a strong sense of community service, dedicating many of their free hours to many worthy causes. Their roles have included everything from PTA President to Little League Fundraiser to American Cancer Society Relay-for-Life Co-Chair. One priority of kidsLA Magazine is to inspire community service in today’s kids and their families.
The best experience that the women bring is raising and being around children. As mothers, aunts and friends, Amanda, Jemma and Liza — know about today’s kids, their lifestyles and relevent issues. Their kids, families and friends’ lives are reflected in the magazine’s pages. By being actively involved in children’s lives, they have envisioned a kid’s magazine that will stand out from the others through design, content and warmth. And with Amanda, Jemma and Liza - visions become reality.
